Yakuza Kiwami is a complete remake of the original Yakuza game, rebuilt from the ground up with enhanced graphics, refined combat, and additional content. It follows Kazuma Kiryu as he takes the fall for a murder to protect his best friend, only to emerge from prison ten years later into a world of betrayal and conspiracy. With a gripping story, vibrant open world, and a mix of brawling combat and minigames, it's a definitive entry point into the series.
Yakuza Kiwami remakes the 2005 PlayStation 2 classic with modern visuals and gameplay. Set in the neon-lit streets of Kamurocho, Tokyo, the story follows Kazuma Kiryu, a yakuza who serves a ten-year prison sentence for a crime he didn’t commit. Upon his release, he discovers that the world he left behind has changed, and he must unravel a conspiracy that threatens everything he holds dear.
Gameplay combines intense beat-’em-up combat with a deep RPG progression system, allowing players to unlock new moves and abilities. Outside of fights, players can explore Kamurocho, engage in substories, and enjoy a variety of minigames from karaoke to batting cages. The remake also includes new cutscenes and missions that expand the original story, making it a fresh experience for veterans and newcomers alike.
