Batman: Arkham Origins takes players back to the early years of the Dark Knight’s crime-fighting career. Set on Christmas Eve in Gotham City, the story begins with Black Mask putting a $50 million bounty on Batman’s head, attracting a roster of lethal assassins including Deathstroke, Deadshot, and Bane. As Batman, players must navigate a snow-covered city, investigate crime scenes, and unravel a conspiracy that tests his skills and resolve.
Gameplay retains the signature free-flow combat and stealth mechanics of the series, while introducing new features like the Remote Claw and upgraded Batwing fast travel. The open world is larger than previous games, with dynamic weather and a day-night cycle. Players can also engage in side missions, collectibles, and challenge maps to earn experience and unlock upgrades. The game includes a multiplayer mode that pits teams of Batman and Robin against Joker’s gang, though it is less prominent than the single-player campaign.
